WBF Background

Workmen’s Benefit Fund of the USA is a fraternal life insurance and annuity society that was founded in 1884 to meet the needs of the European immigrants coming into the United States. Our Society’s name clearly points to its origin. The founders of WBF were craftsmen of all kinds who emigrated to America and organized a mutual aid organization that would provide financial help for the sick, unemployed, or anyone in need of assistance. Today WBF's home office operations are located in Nassau County, in Farmingdale, New York.

Membership

Our current membership consists of 25 branches within 6 districts, comprising about 8000 individuals throughout the USA. Membership is automatic once you purchase a WBF life insurance or annuity policy, with all rights and privileges offered by our organization.

Each new member is assigned to a local branch that is geographically located nearest his or her place of residence. The branch is governed by officers who have been elected by members of the branch. Branches hold meetings throughout the year to carry out the business of the branch, as well as, fraternal charitable fund raising events in which members can participate. Activities are organized to help others in their branch or local community, or merely for the purpose of planning fundraising events for future. These events are often sponsored to benefit a specific charity. Our Society has long been known for the many opportunities we provide to volunteers who perform charitable acts for those less fortunate.

The fraternal benefit system has worked well for over 132 years. WBF welcomes new members who would like to participate in our branch system and avail themselves of our affordable life insurance and annuity product lines.
